CSC is glad to present the new Version 2 of its Design Tools for 2013. These design spreadsheets are intended to help design engineers reduce design lead times, optimize the design of power reactors and boost reactor for residual power and output line filters for inverters. These design tools will assist design engineers in selecting the optimum core (the smallest core size for the given input parameters), thus minimizing the number of interactions required to select the optimum core.
Design tool spreadsheets are included for:
- Block Cores
- E Cores
- Elliptical Cores
- EQ Cores
This design spreadsheet is a powerful and easy to use design tool. Designers just need to enter the core size and material type. Then define the design parameters such as required inductance (L in µHenries), number of turns (N), rated current (Amps), current ripple rate (%) and frequency (KHz). The software will automatically calculate the inductance values from no load (0 Amps) all the way up to the inductance value at full load (Peak current). AC and DC core and total losses will be also calculated. In addition, the spread sheet will show the DC Bias performance characteristics graphs for all different available permeabilities for the chosen core.
