CSC is glad to present his new Design tool for elliptical blocks cores made out Sendust and Mega Flux materials, this Design spread sheet is intended to assist design engineers in reducing design lead times and optimizing the design of power reactors, boost reactor for residual power, and output line filters for inverters by helping them to select the optimum core -the smallest core size for the given input parameters- thus minimizing the number of interactions needed for selecting the optimum core.
This design spreadsheet is a powerful and easy to use design tool, user just need to enter the core size and material type, the design parameters such as, required inductance (L in µHenries), number of turns (N), rated current (Amps), current ripple rate (%) and frequency (KHz). The software will automatically calculate the inductance values from no load (0 Amps) all the way up to the inductance value at full load (Peak current). AC and DC core and total losses will be also calculated. In addition, the spread sheet will show the DC Bias performance characteristics graphs for all different available permeabilities for the chosen core.
